A number of congratulations to many of our members!

This past week and the coming week has been and will hopefully be a very successful period for some of our members. 

Firstly, a massive well done to Luke Burrows on becoming the 2022 Club Champion on Saturday 13th August in a closely fought battle against Coby Cartwright. After the two rounds had been played Luke and Coby were tied for the lead at LEVEL PAR. Luke went on the beat Coby in the playoff to win the 2022 Club Championships. A huge congratulations again to Luke!

Also well done to Rachel East for winning the Ladies Club Championships on the same day with a 2 round final score of 165 shots. Congratulations Rachel!

Secondly, congratulations to James Billingham for winning the "Leicestershire Fox" after a sudden death play off. James was tied on 135 with former county captain Martin Anderson Kibworth. On the 380 yard first extra hole both players hit good tee shots with Billingham's finding the green, he two putted to win with a birdie three. This is the third time James has won the Fox, he won back to back in 2018-2019. Well done James!

Finally, a quick message from Peggy Remington regarding the fast approaching England Boys County Finals.

Will Plant, Ethan Bell, Millen Durham and Cameron Harris travel to Barrow in Furness this weekend to take part in the England Boys County Chat Furness Golf Club, Cumbria. The tournament will be over 3 days – 23rd – 25th. There are 4 counties each representing their region. Leicestershire & Rutland qualified a couple of months ago at Wollaton Park (for the second year running, having never qualified before) and will represent the Midlands. There are 7 in the County squad and Cosby has 4 of them which is an amazing feat. They start their campaign on Tuesday and each day will be foursomes in the morning and singles in the afternoon, playing a different county each day.  

Good Luck Cosby Boys – The Club is very proud of you and will be rooting for you.
