Great Girls Weekend of Golf

What a weekend it has been.  Finn Hurst, a member of the Junior Section, aged 11, entered her first Ladies Competition on Saturday, 19th July.    She scored a  nett 63  in the Ladies Handicap Championship, winning  by 5 shots from Sarah Storer, with Carolyn Hutchins 3rd.    Well done Finn.  Thanks to all the ladies who made her so welcome,  giving her a round of applause as she walked into the lounge. And special thanks to Sue Woodcock and Chris Cooper for being such great playing partners.  What a day  !

Sunday 20th July saw the re-arranged County Girls Championship at Hinckley.    Due to 2 thunder delays, the Championship was declared over the morning 18 holes.  We are thrilled to advise that Edie Speirs was runner up in the Gross Championship with an 80 (handicap Index  3.6). Junior Captain Harriet Oulds won the Nett championship with a score of 88 – 19 = nett 69.     Well done both, we are so proud of you
