The Course

The 1st
The visitor on glancing at the card sees a short par 4 but once on the tee it bocomes apparent that the hole offers much more than the eye can see and the woods staying firmly in the bag! With out of bounds on the right and a meandering brook to the left of a raised fairway there is a great reward for the acurate well played shot. The second shot only requires a short iron but accuracy is essential, as there are bunkers to the right and a sleepered brook hugging the left-hand side of the green.

The 3rd
A deceptively long par 4 requiring an accurate drive in order to view the sloping green beyond the dog-leg. Very long hitters may challenge the dog-leg at some risk as a newly placed bunker has been added on the right-hand side. An undulating fairway and a green tightly bunkered and trouble at the back requires maximum skill and course management from all golfers approaching this green.

The 10th
From the card this also looks pretty straight forward withthe opportunity for a birdie - however if you miss the green a bogie or worse may be staring you in the face! The four bunkers surrounding the green have undergone a rivetting programme, and when you arrive on the gree which slopes back to front, there are some tricky putts to consider.

The 12th
From the elevated tee the prevailing left to right wind causes the slicer to see the out of bounds hedge on the right as an alien but frequently visited area. A well hit tee shot will usually require an accurate medium to long iron approach, that needs to miss the traps on this well guarded green. The long narrow green slopes from back to front and can give rise to some tricky long putts. Our lower handicap golfers rate this as one of the finest Par 4's in the County.
